Late 2020 and into 2021 we have noted increased discussions on the podium about the discrepancy between echo-derived and cath measured gradients.

This phenomenon has implications for everyone in the Heart Team, including the implanter and the referring cardiologist as they work together to treat and monitor patients after their SAVR or TAVR procedure. There is growing awareness that some unnecessary post-AVR interventions might occur due to limited knowledge about the echo-cath discrepancy, thus raising patient safety concerns.

We invite you to the Edwards dinner meeting adjunct to ANZET 2021 to share your views on the Echo vs Cath discrepancy and how it could impact practice moving forward.
